This week in our five-week series about Water Renewal Projects, we are exploring the Design phase.
The Design phase transforms planning into blueprints. During this stage, engineers finalize the technical details that guide construction.
Currently in Design are:
South Shore Gravity Main Rehabilitation – Replacing over 6,600 feet of aging sewer pipe to prevent overflows and extend the life of key infrastructure in the southern part of the system.
Lift Station No. 1 Gravity Main Bypass β Building a gravity main to eliminate an aging lift station and reduce future maintenance.
Digital Water System β A new platform that integrates GIS, SCADA, water models, and more into a unified dashboard for better asset management and faster response.
Elevated Storage Tank 6 β A one-million-gallon tank that will support water pressure, reduce pump strain, and provide emergency storage.
Design is how we ensure that each dollar spent on infrastructure is purposeful, efficient, and future-ready.
